Revit 2019 Uncropped Perspective Tips

I wrote about this before, but wanted to present the information again in a slightly different way to emphasize the features of the new Revit 2019 uncropped perspective. A significant difference between cropped and uncropped is the fact that the camera moves when you scroll the wheel in an uncropped perspective view.

First, here is the traditional cropped perspective view...



If you spin the wheel on your mouse, the camera does not move; you are just enlarging the view on screen. Notice we can never get past the partial height wall around the conference space.



Here is an easy way to reveal the camera (location) in a plan view...



Notice the camera has not moved due to any zooming.



Now, an uncropped perspective example...



Spin the wheel and you move the camera. Notice we are now past the partial height wall around the conference space.



Revealing the camera location again, we see it actually moved. And, for good... unless we use the Navigation Wheel's Rewind tool.



Another helpful tool within the Navigation Wheel, is the Look command. Click and drag to "look" around without moving your feet... and avoid messing up the eye level height relative to the floor.



One last comment, Uncropped perspective views cannot be placed on sheets for obvious reasons...
