Autodesk Identity Services will move to TLS 1.2 on August 3, 2019

Autodesk is about to flip the switch on a security-related update that could affect your ability to use some of their products.

Go here is learn more: Transport Layer Security (TLS): Updates Required to Maintain Software Access

Keep reading for a few highlights...

Here are a few quotes:
"customers using software or versions not listed and customers using perpetual or multi-user (network) licenses will not be affected."

But, also...
"This also impacts some cloud-connected features of products such as Revit, Dynamo Studio, etc."
"For products such as Revit, all versions (2014-2020) are potentially impacted, depending on the cloud-connected features used."
Q. Is the order of patch installation important?
A.  For the most part, the order that patches are applied to a machine does not matter. The exception is the installation of the Personal Accelerator (PAC) update for .NET 4.7. As there is only one installation of PAC on a machine and a PAC update is included in the Revit 2017-2018 patches, the .NET 4.7 update is optional if you install one of the Revit 2017-2018 patches. We encourage installation of this update on machines running .NET 4.7 as this will limit the need for future updates by enabling the use of the highest TLS version available.
Best to make sure all updated are applied!
Once the Revit Hotfix and PAC Security Fix is applied the following version will be installed:
  • Revit 2019.1.2 Hotfix – version 19.2.10.7
  • Collaboration for Revit 2019.2.1 Hotfix – version 19.2.10.7
  • Revit Personal Accelerator Security Fix for Windows 10 (.Net 4.7) – 21.0.10.0
The Personal Accelerator can be downloaded from  the Autodesk Accounts Portal or users can install directly via the Autodesk Desktop App if they have an account and are logged in.

Update: Aaron Maller, from Parallax Team, pointed out that the PAC installer is different for the Suites (compared to Revit purchased separately) but not the Collections.

Verify the correct versions are installed via Revit --> About or Apps & features (Win + X).
