Revit Basics - Schedule Keys

There are a number of ways to utilize a Schedule key in Revit, but today's post will highlight the most basic... which is to manage standard room finishes.

To use a Schedule Key to manage standard room finishes, creating a Schedule and toggling to Schedule Keys as shown in the image below.

Use Insert Data Row, from the Ribbon, to add “room styles” to the schedule key—this is not adding rooms.


Select a room in plan, and pick from drop-down list to select a standard room style; the drop-down list corresponds to each row in the schedule key. Notice the finishes are automatically populated and grayed-out.


Any changes to the schedule key will automatically update all locations in the room finish schedule.
