From Enscape's blog post...

"Enscape and Chaos have announced today, January 11 2022, that they are to merge into one company.

Bringing together Enscape, a leading developer of real-time rendering and design workflow technology for the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industries, and Chaos, a world leader in photorealistic rendering technology, will establish a global leader in the 3D visualization and design workflow software sectors, with a focus on the AEC, Visual Effects (VFX) and Product Design verticals.

Together we will develop and strengthen our product portfolio to create a comprehensive end-to-end visualization ecosystem to meet the evolving needs of architects, designers, and artists from diverse industries to visualize their ideas in the best way possible — from concept to completion. "

I am excited to see how this developes. I have often said "Enscape is not the best rendering engine"... don't get me wrong, it is VERY good. But there is always something better given enough time and resources (just look at CGI in the movies). But Enscape has the best workflow, by far. Which is why so many people use it. But, if we then could click an "easy button" and have smart materials and assets rendering more accurately using the Chaos/V-Ray workflow, that would just be amazing! Fingers crossed.

By the way, as many of you know I have been writing blog posts for Enscape, on their website. But, did you know I have a chapter on V-Ray in my SketchUp book, SketchUp 2013 for Interior Designers? Sample page shown below:)

Exciting stuff!
