Creating a Hybrid Energy Analysis Model (EAM) in Revit

I created an 8-minute video highlighting the opportunity to develop an Energy Analysis Model (EAM) using both massing and building elements within Revit.

I often recommend this hybrid method if the full Autodesk Revit model is too complicated or underdeveloped. This workflow can be done in the context of a linked Revit model or in a fresh file, as I show in this example.

Tip: If working within the context of a linked model, you can tab in and select rood and curtainwall elements, Ctrl + C, and then Paste to Same Place to get major building elements from the link into your massing model.
If the full Revit model works to create the EAM, that can save a lot of time. If you have to use this hybrid method, it is similar to the other energy modeling tools in this space, which all require an EAM to be created from scratch.
