Testing Future Weather Data (fTMY) in Autodesk Forma

Sharing a quick test using projected future weather data (fTMY) in Autodesk Forma (for wind analysis) in today's post.

This is not a super detailed test. I was recently made aware of a resource housing fTMY data for every county in the US. Since Autodesk forma can import .epw files I thought I would try loading several options for the same location and compare the results.

The animation below shows the noticeable changes when switching between time periods and climate models. For this example, I just picked an area adjacent to our office in downtown San Antonio, TX.

Here is where the future weather (*.epw) files came from:

This data could be used for energy modeling as well, to help right-size HVAC systems (not something Forma currently does).

Fun stuff.
