The 2024 AIA San Antonio People + Places Awards was a night to remember last week, celebrating the individuals and projects that shape the city's vibrant architectural landscape. I was honored to receive the AIA Trailblazer Award, recognizing local innovative contributions to the industry.
Lake|Flato also won three project awards for various project types: Higher Education, Hospitality (with Gensler), and Residential.
The event was here in San Antonio (the 7th largest city in the USA:)) and had a great turnout, as you can see in the photo below.

People Awards
I received the AIA Trailblazer Award! I previously wrote about winning this award here.
Thanks to Torrey Stanley Carleton, Hon. AIA, Executive Director of AIA San Antonio (pictured below), and Belinda Sanchez, Managing Director of AIA San Antonio, for all their hard work!
It is great to see the participation at all the local AIA events by UTSA architecture students... like Jacqueline Garcia and Jose Carrasco pictured below, who were taking the photos at the AIA SA backdrop area! Also attended, but not pictured, was Reese Joseph, Chair of the UTSA Committee on the Environment - Student chapter!
