My Free YouTube Playlists - 70+ Professional Development Revit Videos

I have shared 70+ videos covering various topics, from MEP and Civil coordination to visualization and design performance, in five YouTube playlists. Today's post highlights these all in one place.

The following videos, which add up to many hours of free training, have been created over the past few years. Some started as content for a conference presentation, some have been previously sold, and most recently, Autodesk sponsored creating the Autodesk Forma series.

Autodesk Forma  (5 videos)
This series will cover various features and workflows, from early massing studies to interoperability with Revit and Rhino. The powerful analysis tools will also be covered, where the results will be reviewed and compared to other tools.

Autodesk Insight  (19 videos)
Energy modeling and building performance simulation are critical tools to help you understand the impact of design decisions on your building's performance. These tools are also essential to demonstrate your building meets specific energy guidelines.

Autodesk Insight is an online tool from Autodesk that calculates building energy use and performance. It is integrated into Revit and provides visualizations on key building performance metrics.

This course provides an in-depth look at Insight and how you can use it with Revit to better understand your building's performance.

Free course on getting started with Enscape for Revit users. This course was created by me, a longtime Revit user who has written six textbooks on Revit (including the #1 Revit book in the US academic market). For several years, I have been commissioned by Ensacpe to write posts for their blog.

This session will deal with many of the challenges of working on multi-discipline projects with phasing and design options. This will include dealing with linked Revit models and MEP logical systems. We will cover the limitations Revit has and discuss some workarounds.

An easy to understand overview of Autodesk Revit's shared coordinates system. This method works on local and BIM 360 projects. When set up correctly, data exported from Revit can be referenced back into AutoCAD or Civil 3D properly, including 3D geometry if desired.
