Autodesk Revit for Architecture Certified User Exam Preparation (Revit 2022 Edition)

In the competitive world in which we live it is important to stand out to potential employers and prove your capabilities. One way to do this is by passing one of the Autodesk Certification Exams. A candidate who passes an exam has credentials from the makers of the software that you know how to use their software at a base level. This can help employers narrow down the list of potential interviewees when looking for candidates.

To help those interested in taking this exam I wrote a small preparation guide. As you can see in this photo, the book is thin, with just over 100 pages, and intended to be a simple, to-the-point, study guide.

New Book: Microsoft Word Introduction and Certification Study Guide

Anyone who follows this blog knows that I have many interests and find ways to develop them into training materials... like blog posts, staff training, conference presentations around the world and even textbooks! Today's posts will unveil my latest project(s)!

I have developed a new certification study guide for a topic that is not directly related to the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry.

Presenting my newest book:
Microsoft Word Introduction and Certification Study Guide (Microsoft 365 Apps and Office 2019)

I feel this offering is very special in that I used my skills as an architect (WI) to develop compelling graphics which will help students better understand multi-step tasks. Additionally, as an educator, I know students have different learning styles. So this book also comes with 95 videos, 75 flashcards and software! Yes, the book comes with a practice exam that mimics the real exam.

Key Features

  • Explains the exam process
  • Covers the six main categories of the exam
  • Includes practice exam software, videos and flashcards
  • Reviews the Word user interface and terminology
  • Covers the basics and more complex features of Word

First of all, most of my Revit books come with videos... quite a few, actually (see the lists below). They can be downloaded, from the SDC Publications portal, by the student using their unique access code found on the inside-front cover of the book.

Second, they are all available in an accessible format for those with hearing impairments, which is a requirement of many educational institutions.

My New AutoCAD 2020 Book

Autodesk's AutoCAD 2020 is officially out today... and, not only is my AutoCAD book updated it is already printed and in-hand! Photos below:) This book has been updated every year since AutoCAD 2005... many schools teach AutoCAD, as many firms still use it, so it remains widely used each year.

The best thing about annually updating the book is I am able to catch errors and make the book match the current software for the best possible student experience. This year I even made four pages of instructor-requested changes AFTER I sent the final manuscript to the publisher!

Book Update - Residential Design Using AutoCAD 2019

My AutoCAD book has been updated for the new 2019 version which was just released by Autodesk. This book first came out in 2004, and has been updated every year since - that's 15 years!

Many architecture and engineering firms still use AutoCAD; some exclusively and others in conjunction with Revit. With this in mind, most schools offer an AutoCAD class in addition to Revit.

This tutorial-style book walks the reader through the commands and workflows required to...
