DFW BIM Infrastructure User Group (DFWBIUG)

In a about 1.5 weeks I will be a guest speaker for the DFW BIM Infrastructure User Group (DFWBIUG) webinar titled Q&A with Autodesk Expert Elite Members. This free webinar will give attendees a chance to get their questions answered by a group of Autodesk Expert Elite members.

As the Director of Design Technology at Lake|Flato Architects, just down the road from DFW:), I am happy to share some of my knowledge with a great group... especially my friend David Butts.

Although this is an infrastructure group, the questions and topic will likely be wide and varied. Although I do have a fair amount of experience in this area given the previous firm I worked for had in-house civil, bridge, and landscape architecture.

A few examples of my experience in this area:

• Publish Civil 3D to BIM 360 to linked toposurface in Revit
• I did an AU 2019 session on this with an Autodesk developer
• Reflection on Autodesk University Las Vegas 2019
• Civil 3D in BIM 360
• Worked hard to spin this up at the beginning of the pandemic with mixed success as it was early for this application of BIM 360. Although the firm was "all in" on the Architecture, MEP, and Structural side for BIM 360 Collaborate Pro.
• Auto-turn for Revit
• A tool to verify turning and paths of vehicles in Revit; a tool that has existed for years in AutoCAD.
• Product Review: AutoTURN for Revit
• Round trip coordinates between Civil 3D & Revit & back to Civil 3D
• Revit Shared Coordinates - Civil CAD to Revit and Back
• Landscape architecture in BIM and Enscape
• Restoring Duluth’s Lincoln Park – Designing Site Features with Enscape
• Augmented Reality with HoloLens
• Microsoft HoloLens on LHB Urban Street and Utilities Reconstruction Project
• A Virtual Street Reconstruction Project Comes to Life
• ACEC-MN Design Technology Forum - Augmented Reality in AEC
