LHB Makes 'ENR Top 100 Green Buildings Design Firms' List

Pretty cool to see LHB's name, the firm I work for, in the top 100 Green Design Firms list as complied by ENR (Engineering News-Record).

Check out the ENR article here:

LHB’s LEED Platinum Minneapolis Office

USGBC and LEED

LHB has been a ‘firm member’ of the US Green Building Council (USGBC) since 1997. You read that right, 21 years! Walking-the-walk is important, so LHB’s Minneapolis office is LEED CI Platinum certified. Additional, the Minnesota USGBC staff share office space with us through donated space. Our Integrative Design Team (IDT) leader, Rick Carter, was among the first group of people to become a LEED Fellow.

Minnesota B3 (Buildings, Benchmarks and Beyond)

This is a program LHB helped establish with the State government in Minnesota.

What is B3?
Funded by the MN Departments of Commerce and Administration, B3 Benchmarking puts the power of public building energy data in the hands of Minnesota public building owners to manage and reduce energy costs.

Features & Benefits
Benchmark energy modeling, peer comparisons, ENERGY STAR® scores, target tracking, and dynamic reporting help you understand the performance of your buildings.

Testimonials
“We use B3 Benchmarking to pinpoint problem buildings and fix issues before they turn into large problems.” Teri Thompson, City of Lake Crystal
“We use B3 Benchmarking to see how we are doing compared to other schools. Because there are so many schools using it, I believe it’s the best tool for a MN school to gauge progress, set goals, etc.” Lisa Johnson, ISD 197 West St. Paul-Mendota Heights -Eagan

Public Reports:
One of the great things about this program is public access to reports. Check it out here: https://lhb.b3benchmarking.com/Report (notice LHB in the url?)

AIA 2030 Commitment

LHB, as a firm, is a signatory to the American Institute of Architects (AIA) 2030 Commitment. Thus, we have obligated ourselves to do energy modelling and report the results.

Fun stuff!
