Lake Flato uses Knowledge Architecture Synthesis 6 as our intranet platform - we call this site FlakeNet (btw, our summer outing is called Flake Lato:)). S6 is designed for AEC and can easily connect to Deltek and OpenAsset to see client and project data and project and staff photos.
Using a bit of a hack, I wanted to test the idea of presenting FlakeNet directly within Revit as a start screen with the goal of deeper knowledge penetration and access to support resources for our designers.
We host all of our non-project reference data in FlakeNet - templates, LLAs, project roadmap, design performance data (e.g., see image above), HR manual, and design technology (training, etc.).
Exploration Idea...
Wouldn't it be interesting if this data was available directly within Revit? Maybe, maybe not... but it is worth testing. Also, if KA took this idea and developed a Revit add-in, perhaps they could scrape the project name/number and provide contextual data about the project budget, team members, consultants, and more:)
The video below is the (partially stable) PoC on this idea using a bit of a hack that allows a webpage to be presented within Revit (I am not sure this is an option in the Revit API?).
