Autodesk University 2025 Recap

I recently attended and presented at Autodesk University 2025 in Nashville, Tennessee. I have a brief recap post that I'd like to share.

The day before the conference began (Monday), I attended an Autodesk Customer Advisory Board (CAB) meeting. This event involved high-level reviews of recent Autodesk developments and future directions. We also break out into groups to discuss specific topics, like AI in AEC.

The First day of the conference (Tuesday) began with a keynote led by Autodesk CEO Andrew Anagnost. Somehow, I was downgraded to the remote viewing hall and watched the keynote on large screens:)

Autodesk restated its partnership with Esri and the work they are doing on multiple fronts/Autodesk applications.

Speaking of Esri, I had the opportunity to present with Erika Bocian from Esri on the ArcGIS integration in Autodesk Forma! More on the two sessions I presented here.

Autodesk is doubling down, maybe even tripling down, on Autodesk Forma. They announced a building design tool (i.e., inside the building) and even renamed Autodesk Docs to Forma Data Management.

An interesting development is that Forma will be accessible from within Revit! Notice the side panel in the following image from within Revit.

Here is an example of Forma analysis results being viewed from within Revit...

The Autodesk Assistant is an AI-powered tool within Revit that appears to offer a surprising array of possibilities!

I attended an evening AI-focused reception with a bunch of firms working in this area... photo below with Kristen Forward from nbbj and Nicholas Kramer from LPA.

I received an amazing gift from my friends at Pirros during a dinner they hosted... a fantastic pair of sneakers hand-painted by an artist in L.A. Here I am showing them off with the Pirros team at their booth the next day when I stopped by to say hello:) I love promoting great projects, and this is one of them.

I also attended several great sessions and took lots of selfies with folks... I hope to follow up with more from AU 2025 in the near future!
