Trimble XR10 with Microsoft HoloLens 2 Unboxing Video

I just received the Trimble XR10 with Microsoft HoloLens 2 in the mail today and created my first-ever unboxing video. While I have yet to power it up and test it out, the device looks very durable and aesthetically pleasing (sorry, I'm an architect so I had to mention aesthetics:)).

Disclaimer: None needed as this device was not free or discounted in any way!

My 2019 prediction, in this Enscape blog post, just barely came true, when I mentioned the HoloLens 2 would hit the streets this year. I wish this device would have been available a month ago when I presented on Augmented Reality (AR) in Architecture at the Minnesota AIA Convention; you can read about that here: AIA Minnesota Convention 2019 Recap.

Keep an eye on this blog for more on the XR10 in action! See the links at the end of this post for past examples using the original HoloLens.

Correction: I am not hardhat expert... MSA is the manufacture of the hardhat and not a standard as I suggest in the video.

Trimble Connect supports several file formats. See the list here: 3D Model Files

MobiWAN_TR by mobilus

Using the mobiWAN_TR wireless bone condution headset for Trimble XR10 with HoloLens 2, Mobilus Labs, allows the user to still wear in-ear or over-ear hearing protection while still hearing the desvice sound... even in very loud surroundings, like a construction site.

I am told these are back-ordered, but I was sent the one we ordered (again, not free) because I mentioned I was going to be blogging about it:)

Here are photos of the box, instructions in the box and the unit installed on the XR10.
