Another not-surprising announcement, this week, that BILT-NA 2020 San Diego has been cancelled. They oddly call it postponed, even though I have to resubmit my approved sessions and it will be in a different location a year later... but, in any case it was the right move!
Next year, BILT-NA will be in Denver Colorado.

Good call. I likely will not be attending any conferences until a #COVIDー19 vaccine is found and readily available. How about you? Share your thoughts in the comments section below...
THe day before, Autodesk made a similar announcement, which I wrote about here: AU Conferences go digital in 2020.
Here is the email I received yesterday from Wesley Benn, DBEI Executive Chairman...
Now you know, in case you didn't already:)

What about the other BILT events? The message below is from the DBEI website as of today, indicating everything has been canceled except the October-ish European conference scheduled to be in Spain. My guess is this too will be canceled as even the November AU event has already been announced to be digital by Autodesk. I am confident I would not attend even if it was held, as much as I would love to visit Spain.Dear Dan,I hope this email finds you well in these challenging times. Our thoughts go out to everyone that has been deeply impacted by COVID-19. It will come as no surprise that, as a result of this pandemic, DBEI has made the decision to postpone all of this year's Digital Built Week North America events. This includes BILT, BCS, Data Day, DTS and DBEI Hackathon, which was due to be held between 11-15 August in San Diego, California. Our new dates for Digital Built Week North America are 7 - 10 July 2021 with a new location of the Hyatt Regency in Denver, Colorado. In the interim, DBEI will be launching several virtual events and webinars in 2020 so we can continue to deliver the same expertise, insights and knowledge to the AEC industry during these uncertain times. We also have some other exciting initiatives we are working on to continue to provide value to our community and we look forward to sharing all this with you shortly. We would like to thank all our speakers and sponsors and the greater community for their ongoing support and patience as we navigate through this difficult time. The team have been greatly touched by the numerous emails, messages and phone calls of support that we have received. As a global not-for profit, the organization of events this size can be very challenging particularly in the current climate, and the very existence of DBEI wouldn’t be possible without the continued understanding and support from across the industry, so our gratitude and thanks go out to you.If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to any member of our team or email info@dbei.orgSincerely,Wesley Benn,DBEI Executive Chairman
13th May 2020DBEI is closely monitoring the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation around the world. Having already postponed our BILT Asia event (2-4 April, Singapore), our BILT ANZ event (17-20 June, Sydney) and Digital Built Week North America (11-15 August, San Diego), we are uncertain whether our remaining events will proceed. However, the well-being of all our partners and participants in our events remains our utmost priority. We will continue to be guided by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and local health and government authorities in each region. Our team and Committees are working hard to plan for contingencies should the need arise. We wish to thank you all for your support and appreciate your patience and understanding under the current circumstances and will continue to update our website and the community if there are any changes. If you have any concerns or questions about our events please email us at info@dbei.org
