I wrote a new article, just published at AECbytes, on civil-related tools and workflows that Revit users should be aware of.
One section includes an introduction to a new add-in under development for Revit by ParallaxTeam, called FOREground... everything in the image below was modeled with this tool, resulting in a high fidelity site model within Revit.
The topics covered in the article include:
- AutoCAD Civil 3D
- BIM 360 Collaborate Pro
- Published Toposurface
- Round trip coordinates
- Infraworks
- Bridge and rail design
- Preliminary topography
- Revit
- Link Toposurface
- FOREground for Revit, by ParallaxTeam

Revit 2022, with Civil 3D and Infraworks, for Civil and Site Design
In the article, I show how Revit users can get preliminary topo from Infraworks... the image below shows one image from this project, which happens to be an area around our Lake|Flato office, here in San Antonio, Texas.
