AIA San Antonio COTE End of Year Event

Last night I attended the last 2023 AIA San Antonio COTE event of the year, hosted here at Lake|Flato! I will share the highlights of this event in today's post.

The event was hosted in our office, which is extra festive for the office holiday party later this week:)

The Agenda was...

• 5:30-5:45 – Ceremony for AIAU Certificate Completion 
• 5:45-6:15 – LF Office renovation presentation 
• 6:15-6:30 – 2024 COTE Programming 
• 6:30 – 7: Network, Visit Reps, Tour, etc. 

AIAU 'Materials Matter' Certificate Ceremony

Kate Sector, 2023 AIA San Antonio COTE Chair, and Lake|Flato Design Performance Manager, kicked things off by handing out certificates to those who completed all five AIAU 'Materials Matter" sessions, which were offered for free as a group with a discussion afterward!

Kate asked us to reflect on something we learned from the series... thus, me reflecting:)

LF Office renovation presentation 

Kate was joined by Lake|Flato architect Jamie Sartory, who led the design of our office remodel, to highlight the certifications (ILFI Zero Carbon & IWBI Well Building) we are pursuing as well as the products specified (some having Declare and other labels).

2024 COTE Co-Chairs and Programming 

AIA SA COTE will be in good hands in 2024 with these two amazing people taking the helm:

• Benjamin J. Rosas, AIA, LFA, NOMA - Project Manager at LPA Design Studios
• Sandra Montalbo, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, LFA - Design Performance Manager at Overland Partners

Product Reps and Networking

The event also had a few local product reps who exemplify the principles in the AIAU series...
