NVIDIA GTC 2025 - My Session with QuarkXR and T-Mobile

I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be speaking for the third time at NVIDIA GTC next month in Silicon Valley! GTC is always an incredible convergence of forward-thinking professionals from industries like AI/ML, autonomous driving, healthcare, and visualization, so I’m excited to be part of it once again.

I'll be sharing insights on Lake|Flato's collaboration with T-Mobile and QuarkXR. Our focus: optimizing VR streaming with Enscape's real-time rendering engine, Autodesk Revit, and NVIDIA GPUs + CloudXR tech.

What I’ll Be Discussing

I’ll showcase how Lake|Flato, in collaboration with T-Mobile and QuarkXR, is piloting cutting-edge workflows to optimize virtual reality (VR) streaming. We’ve been leveraging Enscape’s real-time rendering engine (integrated with an Autodesk Revit model) and harnessing the power of NVIDIA GPUs plus CloudXR technology.

Why It Matters

A key topic is the value of streaming VR over the internet—especially using T-Mobile’s 5G SA nationwide network with programmable APIs for XR. This approach aligns perfectly with Lake|Flato’s broader tech strategy: keeping our hardware lightweight (like tablets or lower-powered laptops in a virtual desktop infrastructure environment) rather than relying on expensive, high-end VR-ready machines. In fact, the only computer I regularly touch is a basic tablet in the office (shown in the lower right of the previous photo), which can’t run VR on its own because it lacks a discrete GPU!

Solving the VR Challenge

Enter the possibility of internet-based VR streaming. Whether it’s a heavily detailed, high-end residential project or a major initiative like the San Antonio International Airport (SAT) expansion we’re working on with Corgan, streaming unlocks the potential to run massive Enscape models—sometimes over 1 GB in size—without needing a local powerhouse of a machine.

And here’s the best part: the “VR go bag” can be incredibly minimal (photo below). You don’t even need your tablet to make it happen!

Here are the session details...

Using immersive design collaboration to improve efficiency in AECO [S71927]

, CEO and Co-Founder, QuarkXR

, Sr Business Development Manager, T-Mobile Wholesale, T-Mobile

, Director of Design Technology, Lake|Flato Architects

Together with T-Mobile and Lake/Flato, a leading architecture firm, we leveraged the T-Mobile 5G network, NVIDIA CloudXR, and the QuarkXR platform to deliver remote customer presentations in virtual reality. Customers of Lake/Flato experienced immersive Enscape renders from the comfort of their office, thus enabling a quicker and more impactful design collaboration. By having a robust solution that works anywhere, Lake/Flato could reliably deliver an engaging customer presentation to geographically distributed stakeholders, and speed up the project approval process. Learn how NVIDIA CloudXR and 5G technology can reduce friction in the architecture and construction process and speed up the architecture, engineering, & construction (AEC) workflow.
Key Takeaways:
How NVIDIA CloudXR and 5G are used to deliver impactful architectural presentations to a widely distributed customer base
The potential of extended reality (XR) to transform the design collaboration process and make it more efficient
Exploring the potential of XR technology in every aspect of AEC design and construction
Learn how to deliver a scalable streaming solution for AEC customers using 5G and CloudXR
Primary Topic: AR / VR - AR / VR Collaboration
Industry Segment: Architecture / Engineering / Construction
Technical Level: General Interest

I hope you’ll join me at NVIDIA GTC to learn more about how we’re using this approach to redefine what’s possible in VR for architecture and design. See you there!
