Webinar - Maximizing Building Performance via Computational Design

While attending the Advancing Computational Building Design conference yesterday, which continues today, I learned about an interesting webinar coming up by WSP that I thought I would share here...

In a fun speed networking session, which mainly occurs between classes, I had a chat with Elliot Glassman, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, CPHD, Senior Associate + Technical Principal at WSP Built Ecology. He will be presenting the following webinar on November 18th, 2020:
Computer-aided “design” has evolved exponentially along with every other technology over the last 30 years.  Gone are the days of CAD as an expensive production tool for drafting.  Ever powerful software is applied to increase the iterations of a building’s design and to imagine geometrically complex, yet buildable structures.  The next generation of computational tools, when integral to the design process can achieve wholistic solutions that achieve the architect’s aesthetic goals, maximize performance for the owners and occupiers and achieve societal goals of sustainability and reducing the carbon footprint.

This presentation will highlight computational design techniques to help explore multiple alternatives in early project phases to inform critical architectural decisions about massing, façade design, and material selection and qualifies for one AIA, HSW, Continuing Education Unit.

When:
  • Wednesday, November 18th, 2020
  • 12:00 - 1:00 PM EST

Sounds like a great presentation and it comes with continuing education (CE) credit!
