BIM 360 Design - Easy Upgrade Button

BIM 360 Design has another 'value add' element over traditional Revit workflows... that being the ability to automatically upgrade a project, including all its links. This is today's topic...

Keep reading to learn more...
With a single button in your browser, you can upgrade an entire project - see the first iamge below. That's right, you are not even in Revit!

Once you click the button, you get a serious message you better read! In fact, you can't click the Upgrade button here until you check the box, indicating you have read it!

The project is now being upgraded. All Revit models, and all links. This does not include any files manually pushed up via your browser/Desktop Connector; similar to what I wrote about here: BIM 360 Design - Working with External Consultants not using BIM 360 Design.

Two emails are also sent... one saying the process has begun and another indicating the process is complete. Only 7 minutes between these two emails, for this pretty small project.

The process is complete!

The project now appears in the BIM 360 Design list, within Revit 2020... and all the links are still intact and upgraded! No files where renamed.

Fun stuff!
