The wait is over... and I am not talking about the US election results... the new version of Enscape has been released today!
Today's post is all about Enscape 2.9.
There are so many amazing new features in Enscape, I really think they could have called this version 3.0:)
Here are the highlights of what you get in version 2.9:
- Version: 2.9.0+32212
- Released: 2020-11-04
- Custom asset library
- Offline assets
- Video textures
- Displacement mapping
- User account licenses
- Localized standalones
- Batch rendering performance improvements
- Custom attributes and confidentiality for BIM Track
In the image below, we have an example of a custom library. Notice the tabs at the top, to toggle from Enscape Assets to Custom Assets. Also, on the Enscape Assets tab, we now have a Offline Assets check box... which copies all the content to your local drive. Having the assets local saves a lot of time loading previews and placing content.
FYI: This custom library is a portion of what we have already created at Lake | Flato!
Here is a video showing the animated asset in action...

A few weeks ago I covered a few of the new 2.9 features, which were still in beta, on an episode of The Revit Kid's live YouTube channel. Check that out here:
