Revit Roadmap; Product Development Highlights

About a year ago Autodesk published "The First-Ever Public Roadmap" on their blog, with the goal of showing their hand on the general direction of product development.

Some of the features, from the first roadmap, now available in Revit 2018 or 2018.1 are:

  • Navisworks Underlay
  • Dynamo Player Inputs
  • Multi-story Stairs and Railings
  • Edit Circuit Path
  • Multipoint Routing for MEP Fab
  • Customizable Building and Space Types
  • Outdoor Air Rates
  • Hydronic Pipe Networks
  • Pipe Flow Pressure Drop Computed in Background
  • More Steel Conections

For details on the new roadmap...

Read the Revit Roadmap blog post here:
Revit Roadmap Update – August 2017

The roadmap update is not necessarily just looking back at last years roadmap when features are listed as "Delivered" or "Planned". It is also taking into account Revit Ideas which have been considered since the previous roadmap.

I will finish this post by copying the last two paragraphs from the roadmap update, as it is really good information for those wishing to get more involved. You can share your ideas, vote on other ideas, and... even beta test future Revit features!

REVIT IDEAS & REVIT PREVIEW

There are a variety of other discussions and work related to connecting workflows from design to fabrication and beyond.  If you don’t see something listed here, it doesn’t mean that it isn’t on our radar for the Revit roadmap. If you have specific suggestions for ways we can make the product better, we encourage you to submit them to Revit Ideas.

If you would like to provide feedback on these capabilities, please ask us about participating in  our beta program (Revit Preview).  Reach out to revit.preview.access@autodesk.com to let us know that you wish to join our Revit Preview.
