Update: False alarm... as the dialog clearly states, this only allows you to change the installation path (which is still about 1 GB). But does not change the location of the local cache files. Sorry:(
Breaking news... we can now specify a custom location for BIM 360 Design local files!!! Thanks Autodesk.

Clicking the Options button, during install, allows a custom install path to be selected. See the links below for the previous limitations. Unfortunately, I was originally lead to believe this had something to do with being able to customize the local cache location, but that is not the case. See link below for the current workaround for this, using symbolic links.
