I finally got around to becoming a Digital Build Environment Institute (DBEI) member! With changing jobs, getting a house ready to sell and moving across the country I had been out of the loop on the DBEI actives during the pandemic. Today's post is about this program!
Looks like James Vandezande, CTO at HOK, had the same inclination as we signed up just two hours apart yesterday as seen in the image above!
What is BDEI, here is a quote I lifted from an intro to one of their recent BDEI.tv postings...
"DBEI is a global not-for-profit, servicing the AECO industry... with a goal of improving productivity, efficiency, and sustainability across the built environment." Melissa Thiessens, DBEI volunteer and Design Technology Specialist at Parallax Team.
Speaking of BDEI.tv, it is a resource available via two of the paid membership tiers, which is described as:

Scrolling down the list of DBEI.tv you will see lots of highly experienced people from our industry. One such example is a presentation by my friend, Purvi Irwin from CADD Microsystems called To Host or Not to Host, That is the Question: Using Hosted Families in Revit. This session lasted one hour and 44 minutes! After the 45 minute formal presentation, people who stayed on turned on their cameras and they had a roundtable discussion!
Membership costs are reasonable, especially the free option! With the paid version, there is access to additional resources, such as previous years BILT conference material; currently I see 2017-2019. All seven sessions I did during that time are available.
