I have the pleasure of presenting to the IES Mexico, Monterrey Section, next week. This free virtual presentation will be in both english & spanish and is also open to anyone. This is the topic of today's post!
As the Chair of the Illuminating Engineering Society's BIM Standards Committee, I will be presenting on BIM adoption and benefits in the lighting design industry, as well as the Technical Memorandum: Lighting Parameters For Building Information Modeling, an American National Standard, TM 32-19 and related developments.
If we were not in a pandemic, it would have been fun to deliver the presentation in person. Now that I live in San Antonio, Texas... it is only a 5-hour drive to Monterrey:)
Unfortunately, I do not speak spanish, so there will be an interpreter.

Presentation description
This webinar will cover the current trends in lighting design as it relates to the use and adoption of building information modeling (BIM) to design and deliver technical documents. We will discuss the value to the designer/customer as well as the opportunity for manufacturers to create high quality luminaire content which can assist in design and analysis within one of the primary BIM platforms, e.g. Autodesk Revit, and supported by a third party software, such as ElumTools or Climate Studio. Furthermore, we will also cover the technical memorandum the committee I chair, IES BIM Standards, has developed, called Technical Memorandum: Lighting Parameters For Building Information Modeling, an American National Standard, TM 32-19. Learn about the goal and scope of this document, and its potential to facilitate a standard which could improve efficiency within the lighting design discipline.
